“Alma” (soul) is the energy of all of us, what makes us unique … what connects us to God,“ says Quique.

ALMA – his sixth production as a solo artist – is certainly the musician’s most mature and personal one.
The album includes some great guest musicians’ performances like the ones of David Hinds of Steel Pulse (Love, Love, Love), Alborosie (Yo Planto), Dogge Doggelito (Ojo) amongst others, conferring the disc internationality.
ALMA, issued under the Chilean label Oveja Negra, contains 20 tracks. Quique Neira composed and recorded ALMA in his own studio, Madera & Agua, in Santiago/Chile, but it has as well been recorded in various studios e.g., in Austria, Switzerland, England, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Sweden, Jamaica. The album was mastered by Jim Fox in Washington, D.C., U.S.A.

Quique Neira  (Chile)  the charismatic Icon of Latin Reggae has risen to legendary status in Latin America’s Reggae circles since the 1990’s – His mellow mix of Roots Rock Reggae and Latin rhythms has drawn hundreds of thousands enthusiastic audience  to clubs and large Festivals in Latin America.

Now as well in Europe. In his first European tour  in 7 European countries in no fewer than in 6 international festivals (e.g. Festival Mundial /Tilburg Netherlands, Afro Latino Festival / Bree Belgium…..) and in 3 club concerts – a  impressive debut on a new continent.

Quique Neira has a unique voice and is a great live musician, composer and producer.

Monica Akihary   -   BOI AKHI

Guitarist en composer Niels Brouwer and vocalist Monica Akihary are the core of Boi Akih, .developing the  cultural roots – musical traditions from the Moluccas, Sunda and Bali, Dutch (European) jazz and improvised music, classical Indian music and traditional African music – form the basis for composition, free improvisation and text. .Monica Akihary honours her heritage. She writes and sings in her father’s native language Moluccan.-

Najavibes/ Geneva Switzerland are since more than 10 years a stabil band.-  The band now  will release a music project by sharing their compositions  with mussicians from different continents  around the globe .-  A very intersting and intercultural  project.-

Die Wiener Bezirksfestwochen die mit ihren Veranstaltungen nahe an die Bevölkerung kommt – in Einkaufszentren, Märkte, beliebten Plätze, Parks usw. mit den Zielen des interkulturellen Austauschs sind unsere hervorragenden Kooperationspartner. In diesem Jahr stellten wir Brasilien in den Mittelpunkt.

E.T. + So de Sacanagem Heiße Rhythmen, schnelle Tänze Die Sambagruppe des brasilianischen Perkussionisten „Edison Tadeu da Silva“, die alle Stile der “musica popular brasileira” spielt, wird von ihm in den unterschiedlichsten Variationen schon seit dem Jahr 1991 geführt. Bossa Nova, Samba, Tropical, Brasil-Percussion… was immer er spielt, seine Konzerte sind Ausdruck von Rhythmus, Musikalität und Lebensfreude. (Text Freizeit und Kultur)

Für dieses Jugendprojekt in Santiago de Chile suchen wir Partnerschulen / Jugendorchester zum Austausch über Internet, als Patenschaft und für geplante perönliche Begenungen im Rahmen von geförderten Youth Projects. Geringe Spanischkenntnisse sind von Vorteil – jedoch die Sprache der Musik ist international.

KULTURAUSTAUSCH Europa-Chile 2007 mit SOLyLLUVIA

Dank unserer internationalen Kooperationspartner – konnten wir unser Projekt “Kulturaustausch zwischen Europa und Chile/Lat.Am ” realisieren.

Die chilenische Mestizorockband SOL y LLUVIA nahm an bedeutenden europäischen Festivals teil.

Amsterdam Roots Festival NL 17.06.07 welches die Begegnung der Kulturen fördert-

Festival Latinoamericando / Milano IT 25.06.07 eines der berühmtesten Festivals im Bereich Lat. Am. Kulturprsäsentation in Europa

Weiters konnte für SOL y LLUVIA – deren Musik und Poesie von einem starkem sozialem Engagement geprägt ist – durch unsere internationalen Kulturkontakte Interviews für Printmedien sowie für Radio/TV Stationen vereinbart werden.

Wie z.B. in Amsterdam / NL im multikulturellem TV Sender MTNL http://www.mtnl.nl/read/MtnlgoesRoots der Niederlanden. Gesendet wird der Beitrag in deren Lokalen TV Program ‘Mtnl in de Stad’ (Mtnl in the City) in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag und Utrecht.

In Italien wurden Kontakte zu der Zeitschrift “El Carrete” - der lateinamerianischen Community in Italien hergestellt, die in ihrer nächsten Ausgabe einen Bericht bringen wird.

Das Festival Latinoamericando bingt die Beiträge in seinem Festival Radio / TV

Somit stand die Tour unter dem Zeichen gemeinsamer Begegnungen zwischen Europa mit seiner Vielfalt an auch Lat. Am. Volksgruppen und Chile /Lat. Am.

Ein Konzept das wir mit SOL y LLUVIA 2008 im Jahr des interkulturellem Dialoges im grösseren Rahmen- in vielen Ländern Europas und Ost-Europas weiterführen werde.
